This quest starts automatically after finishing the quest Getting to Gerdy by leading Allen Carter to Gerdy Hooke at the Crash Site.
Allen carries Gerdy back to Carter Camp, and you have to guard them on the way.

Despite Allen's claims to be just a doctor he can run at full pelt while carrying an injured patient on his back. They set off immediately, but stop and wait for you if you stay too far behind. They will be attacked about halfway to the camp by two Lepus Hares. Fighting them off is not a real challenge, you can easily kill both with just your 
Wood Sword, but it will be easier if you improved your gear and maybe have a follower, too.
This very mission doesn't allow fast travel option. If you try to fast travel via the map, you will be reminded that you will lose the current quest, and if you insist, the quest will be reset, NPCs will get back to their initial location, and you will have to fetch them and start the mission again.
The quest is finished when you reach Carter Camp. Gerdy will be laid into the healing tube, and you should talk to Allen about the Medpack to get your promised reward.
